I've been looking for a wheel for the XBox for a while. I have a Madcatz MC2 for the Dreamcast, and was expecting similar performance from the XBox version, so I passed on it. The MC2 is not a bad wheel, but the feel is quite toyish, and the response is tenuous. Thankfully, the new Logitech NASCAR is a more solid wheel, and has better feel, accuracy and control than the MC2.

I've tried this wheel with Project Gotham Racing 2 and Rallisport Challenge 2. Here are my first impressions:

Pros:

1. Typical Logitech build quality: Everything fits together well.

2. Control is precise and accurate.

3. Nice to have the slot for the XBox Live communicator.

4. Adjustable sensitivity is easy to use and works well.

5. Pedals have good throw and spring weight.

Cons:

1. Lap wings are too small for an adult.

2. Suckers do not make up for the lack of a clamp.

3. Wheel is textured,... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars The best wheel I could find, April 13, 2005

I tried the big three xbox wheels out there right now- Mad catz, Pelican, and this one and I really like this one the best. It has the best control, the most well made feel, and works the best with a variety of driving games from outrun2, to burnout 3 to rallisport 2. I took the others back and i am keeping this one.

I was doing some research on the different types of racing wheels for the Xbox and came to the conclusion that this wheel would easily be the best decision for any game player. I also found that the settings for steering sensitivity isn't really that hard. All you need to do is:

1. Press and hold the MODE button for 2 seconds, or until the MODE light starts flashing.

2. Press the A, B, X, or Y button while holding the MODE button to choose a sensitivity setting.

3. Release both buttons. Steering sensitivity is now set.

By pressing the Y button you get the lowest sensitvity level

By pressing the B button you get the Default low sensitivity

By pressing the A button you get the Medium sensitivity level

By pressing the X button you get the High Sensitivity level

For certain games I found the these settings to be helpful:

Y button: TOCA Race Driver 2, The Ultimate Racing Sim, Test Drive, R:... Read more
