5.0 out of 5 stars Finally... A Great Xbox 360 Wheel...!!!, November 15, 2011

I just received the Mad Catz Wireless Forced Feedback Xbox 360 Wheel Nov 14th. I was very impressed with the heavy metal use and quality of this wheel. The Paddle Shifters, Wheel Spokes and the Stick Shifter are made with metal. All of the buttons have a nice tight fit with no wiggle. The wheel is rubber wrapped at the 3 and 9 o'clock grip positions. When driving all of the controls are well placed. It even has the bumper buttons hidden on back of the wheel infront of the paddles. The Pedals are firm and well placed. I tested it with my Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, I don't have Forza 4 yet. (The wheel was made with Forza 4 in mind.) The game is completely controlled from the wheel, no other controller needed. The driving was INCREDIBLE. The wheel didn't fight with you, but rolled with the track. If you were on a bank it let you know, The feel through my hands was nearly what I get when driving in my truck. You can feel cracks, bumps, curbs, dirt, paved, and any objects that happen to... So I got the unit from the madcatz website for 220 because if you order directly from there they have an internet coupon code that gives you 10 percent off, which is awesome because you can have it shipped 2day xpress with the extra cash you save if you want to. Anyways, i am a 33 yr old gamer, and have always stayed away from the madcatz brand since the days during the n64. I bought alot of junk controls from them that forever made me stick with the oem brand of whatever system i owned since then. Needless to say I was extremely skeptical, but I knew I would just return it if I didnt like it so I said what the hell. Well, I think the wheel is worth what you pay for it, and im glad madcatz has finally made a quality product other than their competition fight sticks. It has alot of weight to it, almost all steel, has a nice feel with rubber grips and 270 degrees of rotaion. the included lap supports are very sturdy if you must play this way, and the secure clamp is also very... 3.0 out of 5 stars Decent wheel, but way overpriced, February 15, 2012

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program ( What's this?)
The Mad Catz Wireless Force Feedback Racing Wheel for XBox 360 would be a decent wheel at a lower price point. At its MRRP of $250, I feel it's overpriced by $100. At a lower price point, I might have given it 4/5 stars. For $250, I just don't see the value or quality that I expect for that sort of money.

For starters, it's 95% made of plastic (and I feel that other 5% percentage is being very generous!). For this MRRP, I expected a lot more metal (ie: quality and durability) given the 'part metal construction' claim. The only visible metal is the center face plate (where the buttons are), the F1 paddles, and the cap on the shifter. To be fair, there may be more bits of metal lurking inside that I can't see; I sincerely hope there are! Even then, this 'metal' is die-cast, and I'm just not impressed. Sorry.

See my theme here? This wheel is way overpriced for what you get!

WHEEL: 3/5 stars
All told, the wheel does have a nice feel to its... Read more

Buying this item is worth it for hard core car race gamers. Unlike the other same platform where you have to find a sturdy desk then mount it, this Thrustmaster Ferrari Wireless F430 Cockpit is an all-in-one and can both be used on PS3 & PCs. Within a month of enjoying this expensive toy, the brake pedal started to feel weird that game play is affected. Since it was still within warranty, I mailed this back to it's HQ in Canada (they don't have one here in the U.S.). They fixed it and mailed my toy back to me and I continued enjoying this toy for a couple of months more. Just recently, that same problem popped up again and since it's out of warranty - i might have to fix this myself. Fun is 5 stars, quality 3 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for smaller kids, December 8, 2010

This review is from: Thrustmaster Ferrari Wireless Gt F430 Scuderia Edition Cockpit (Accessory)
I've been searching for a steering wheel with pedals and a supporting beam, but for kids as young as 4 year old and 36 inches tall. There are plastic wheels securing steering column to small base to put between kids thighs for Wii (controller insert type), but non for PS3. Also I didn't want to build a frame for my kids that will grow out of it in matter of months. So I kept searching for many months, until I found this set.

I was very happy that with steering wheel column in most compact mode. My youngest boy (about 3 feet tall) can sit on a kids chair, with hands on the wheel and feet on both pedals! So cute seeing this is possible! And this set will even allow someone over 6 feet as well.

The whole unit looks pretty robust, which appears to be mostly metal for the steering column and the base. This is also why it's kinda of heavy (which is actually good). It is a beautiful set.

The wireless is nice and portability is an extra benefit to take to... Read more

I've had it for about a month now and totally love it... Works on all of my PS3 games, some were harder to configure than others but overall a breeze. Dirt 3 is autosynced so nothing for you to do then turn it on :) Also, the assembly was a breeze.. No exageration there... I'm so bad at these things generally speaking and was worried I was going screw up or take forever. It literally was ready to go in 5 minutes. If that... I do wish it had force feedback but the feel of the wheel and the love of having connected pedals all in one sweet package makes up for the lack of FF. I'm psyched I got this and don't regret spending the money...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for 3 hours, now dead; support is slow to resolve, May 21, 2011
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

This review is from: Thrustmaster T500RS Racing Wheel (Accessory)
I was very excited as I unboxed my T500RS to replace my well worn G27. I attached the wheel and pedals to my Playseat WRC; the wheel fit perfectly, but the mount holes for the pedal set did not line up, had to zip-tie in place. (I have seen rumors on line that Playseat is working on an adapter but 5 months after release it is still yet to be seen...)

I started Gran Turismo 5 on my Playstation 3 and got in about 3 hours of play. The wheel was remarkably better than the G27, impressively responsive.

I turned the system off, and returned a few hours later for another session, to find that the unit will not power up. The AC Adaptor's indicator light is on, so it must have power, and when I connect the USB cable, I hear a high pitched whine coming from the wheel, but the power light on the wheel does not light up and the unit is not responsive.

VERY disappointed that a such an expensive unit would die on day 1. Awaiting a response from Thrustmaster support... Read more

This review is from: Thrustmaster T500RS Racing Wheel (Accessory)
I bought the T500 rs in march of 2011. Three months later the cooling fan started to sound like it was going to break off. I emailed thrustmaster customer support as my 30 day return period from amazon was over. They took two days to respond and started by asking me for a video in which they could hear the abrasive sound. I did so immediately. Customer service is located in France so they took another 24 hours to respond. When they did so, they started asking me questions which I felt were designed to incriminate me regarding foul use of the wheel. This process took several days, they then asked me for proof of purchase, to which I replied with the invoice from amazon. They then told me that they could not open the attachment. I had to resend it. This of course took another 24 hours of what was now starting to become a tediously long and cumbersome process. After this they told me that the unit would have to be mailed by me to France. They would not pay for shipping. This of course is... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars The best wheel on the market, March 14, 2011
By
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Thrustmaster T500RS Racing Wheel (Accessory)
When the Thrustmaster T500rs came out, I laughed a little bit. Thrustmaster has not made a good wheel in quite some time and at the price of 600 dollars, its double the cost of a G27. Not only is it double the cost, the wheel wheel housing is intensely large and the pedals are quite cumbersome. That being said, the wheel is superb in most every way.

I recently had a chance to use the T500rs for a while and was taken aback by how good it is. The force feedback is quite robust and precise. It gives a lot more feeling of realism only dreamed by the other wheels on the market. The wheel feels weighty, like a real car wheel, but lightens up the faster you drive and turn. This dynamic response is greatly appreciated when driving simulation racing games. Road inputs are much easier to feel with this wheel improving the users ability to respond and drive dynamically.

The buttons on the wheel are a mix between the G27 and the driving force GT. The versatility of the... Read more
